FD258 – Focus Friday, Unfocused, Refocused

Focus Friday means showing up for blog planning.  :)  I know, I know. You are all saying where the hell is Lizzy.  Lizzy has been Lazzzzy these past weeks.  Something has must be said for routines.  I am constantly saying I need to get back to my routines, but it has been eluding me lately.  I don’t know why.

Back Looking on this Focus Friday  ……………………………..

I started blogging again this week.  That is so abnormal for me.  Blogging is a bit of a release and a shout out for the accountability in my life, if you know what I mean.    So this week was a bit flucky. Well actually this whole year has been flucky. I have been a woman on the move and I haven’t finished yet.

My Office is in a shambles.

So I think it is time to take the baby step and get me some short-term goals in place so I can start getting on track.  The first order of business is to get my office back in order.  If I had one word for my office it would be Chaos! How does one collect so much paperwork even when they are not home.  Well I managed to do just that.  Unfortunately my shredder took a nose dive, so I have to flip for a new one.  Dangnabit.

Get it, Get it!

My short-term weekly goal this week is to stay on my fitness schedule.  Journalize what I’m eating.  Yeap, I said it out loud, the dreaded journalizing.  UGGGG!  Polish my nails at night instead of five minutes before I go somewhere, which by the way has really been working out for me, believe it or not, but it really is not good for the morning schedule.

I plan on running at least 4 times this week and getting some weights in this week which I haven’t done in a while. I have a running date in June and I don’t want to look too bad.  I’m already slow enough as it is. :)

Meal Planning on this Focused Friday………………

I still have some food in my freezer from two weeks ago. I will also be going out in the AM to a farmers market to get me a hug pile of veggies.  I am going to start juicing.  My plan is to replace one meal with juice only.  We will see how that goes.

Sleep Planing on this Focused Friday……..

It is so easy for me to stay up all night.  After living overseas for 7 years, my body automatically takes every opportunity to stay on that time zone.  I drank way too much coffee yesterday and I was up until 6:30 am this morning.  Believe it or not I wasn’t sleepy at all.  That is crazy.  Not good.  Time to get on a sleep schedule.  I can’t get anything done sleeping half the day away.

I can do this. I look good for only 4 hours sleep.

I also have some travel planning to make, but I will save that for another post.  :)

That’s my crystal ball moment for the past and future.

FD245 – Focus Friday, Reviewing Goals & Food Prep

Back Looking, Forward Going

Focus Friday has entered the agenda for Liz. I love seeing all the snazy buttons and cool sayings on all the blogs I visit.  You know I have Soap Box Sunday and Wednesday Rewind and now, introducing Focus Friday.  I am sure I’m not the first one to come up with that one.  I can assure you that I did think it up myself.  I’m no theif.

Anyway.  I realize I’m the only one that can really read what is on the image.  It says “Back Looking, Forward Going, Focus Friday.”  I was attempting to be witty.  I hope it worked.  Anyway I thought since we are well into the year, this would be a good time to start taking a look at my goals.  I’ve been procrastination.  :(

Those goals being extremely short term weekly goals.  That works great for me.  I will be looking at my fitness goals and past and future week in general.  I always say you have to look at the past in order to know where you need to be.

So above is last weeks schedule and the projected next weeks schedule.  Having a schedule definitely takes the guess work out of what my plan is for that days workout.  You know I am a slow roller, so I have been changing my workouts very slowly.  I’m really not in any rush to kill myself.  I will leave that to the gun-ho fitness people.

So this week has been awesome.  I found a virtual race, which I will tell you about in a couple of days.  I got lots of fatty candy for valentines day, which I think I need to share, even though I said I wouldn’t.  I used my day off to do some serious cleaning and food prep for the week to come.  My room was a true Lizaster.  I’m still not completely finished.  Oh well. :)

I really love oat groats in the morning.  You should really try them if you haven’t tasted them yet.  You’ll never go back to regular oatmeal if you do.  I promise you.  I can cook a 1/2 cup dry and it will be enough for the whole week.  Now that is a cheap meal.

The black beans are for my quinoa & black bean burgers.  I already made the quinoa earlier today and I plan on adding some rice to it.  I swear my recipes are different every time I cook them.
