I’m really working on my social skills, Dagnabit! What about you? How does one become a Social Lotus on a budgeted, limited schedule. For me, I do it the disorganized way. I squish in as much as I can, any kind of way I can, and do whatever I can in a small amount of time. So don’t be like me. Be better than me. Please.
Today on the Liz blogging schedule is blog info. Yes I have a schedule. Yes I have a schedule. I have to repeat that over & over. This week I kind of threw the schedule out the window. Since I will be traveling it may still not be back on track for a minute, but oh well. No one cares but me.
One thing I wanted to do is to ramp up my social skills & standings. It is not that I really really care about the millions of people who follow me or like me or subscribe to LizForADay. It is the challenge of increasing the stats. Stats tell you if you’re being a better blogger today than you were yesterday.
Even if the stats were so small a mouse would not give it the time of day, I would most like still blog. Why?…….
Ultimately I’m doing it for myself. It’s a way to release the pinned up creative energy that I have. It’s also a way for me to talk as much as I want. I’m not worrying about someone telling me to shut up.
If they tell me in a comment, I can just edit it.
I was telling my friend, Gennia Holder (social media guru) that I wanted to find a way to connect with my inner social skills & drive traffic to my blog. ( I was chatting with her on Facebook) Not so much to be seen, but because I crave interaction through the form of comments. I luv, luv, luv comments. I answer them all.
They make me happy.
Note: Don’t forget to leave your comment at the end of each and every post. All compliments and praises are welcome. After all this blog is all about The POSITIVE aspects of “Life as I Live It.” Even when I whine and complain I’m smiling on the inside.
This is Gennia Holder & this some extremely useful info she redirected me to me.

This is super great info and I wanted to share it. No plug in required.
You all know by now that I have a sorted history with plug-ins. They done me wrong, but I still love them. As a matter of fact I just installed another so you, my readers can pin any image on my site to your Pinterest account. I wish more people had that feature. It is awesome.
I could go on and on and on, but I won’t. I feel so popular lately. Ha, Ha!
I will let you all know how this is working out for me in a later post.

Social Skills question:
What is your favorite social media outlet?
Do you find it overwhelming at times?
How do you manage you social media time?

This is great advice for a New Year of blogging! I definitely learned some things. Thanks for posting this, Liz!
Me too. Is that not a great infographic? I already have tried some of what is on it and my traffic has gone up a lot.
Love the graphic! Lots of great info there! I’m pretty much obsessed with Facebook, and use it more than I do Instagram or Twitter. I also, of course, love blogging (That’s social media, right?)
Yes, it is in my book. I love Facebook also. I am still learning how to really benefit from it.
I have found some old friends using it and that really makes me happy.
I’m lousy at juggling social media. I get overwhelmed and bail every other month or so.
I totally understand. It takes up even move time than blogging.
Hi Liz. I just ran across your blog and I love this post because I can relate so much to it. One of my New Years resolutions are to put some structure in my very busy day and be more efficient with my time. Of course Social Media is one of those things I need to fit in but it gets overwhelming. Facebook, Twitter, my blog and now I’m on Pinterest too! I’m not even gonna tell you the last time I went into my LinkedIn account. But it’s on my list to get it updated. Anyway I ramble on. Thank you for some great information also. I appreciate it
You are very welcome. It is nice to know that I am not alone on the slow social media goat trail.
Thank you so much for stopping by and commenting.
Thanks for all those tips, I need to bookmark them. What an exhausting list of things to do- I certainly don’t do half of them and will try to do more as of course I too am obsessed with stats!
Me too! I love stats. I don’t have good stats, but I love them anyway.
Well, wasn’t I surprised to see my mug on your blog this morning. Thanks for sharing and glad the infographic was helpful . . . and BTW your Google Analytics are nothing to sneeze at – good job Liz.

No thank you. You always have such good information to share. I was so excited to pin it, post it and share it.
This is the first time I’ve seen what Google Analytics looks like, I just use the WordPress Stats and I admit that it is very easy to become obsessed with them
I have found that posting a link to each blog post on Pinterest generates the most new views
I just started putting my post on Pinterest and Stubleupon. My traffic has spiked just in a couple of days. I changed from WordPress because the information was a bit limited and it was counting my views. Google Analytics has really good detail and it is free. You should give it a try.
Go Liz! I love learning more about social media; I’m always on the look-out for more and more info, so I really appreciate this post.
Good luck getting more traffic and enjoying it! You have so much to offer
Thanks Kate. I really hope I am adding some value to others lives and not just running off a the mouth like I do most of the time.
