Me and my running shoes have a loving relationship. I think I love them too much. The last running shoes I had were screaming to be thrown under a semi and put out of their misery. I had no idea that I was running in what I now know was the equivalent of flat tires. I had those shoes for over two years.
Allen & Stevie, Running with the Pack Podcast
I was listening to a podcast called Running with the Pack. That is my favorite podcast. The host and hostess were talking about running shoes. They mentioned something about the frequency of purchasing new running shoes. I had also read something similar in Runners World Magazine.
When they were new.
So in June, while home on R&R, I decided to purchase new running shoes. I also decided that I was going to go to a real specialty running store and that is just what I did. I love the experience I had at the running store. The name of the store was the Track Shack in Orlando. My plan is to go there again next month when I fly back for my 1/2 marathon.
Ole Faithfuls
I will probably wear my old faithful Sacounys, but I will come back to not so sunny Afghanistan with a new pair of kicks. So I’m reaching out to the blogs-oshpere to find me some new kicks. I was thinking of going with Sacouny again because I really love them. But I would also like to get a second pair. So help a sista out. :)

I <3 Track Shack! That's where I get my shoes. But I'm a bad person to make shoe suggestions because I really don't think I've found the right pair for myself yet!

My favorite are Asics!!!

This is my favourite kind of discussion! And Liz,I am so, so excited for your half (I’m glad you put in the addendum about wearing your current shoes for your half – you could have set off some mad debate otherwise!). You know I love my Brooks, but it all depends on your feet. Mine are neutral, so Brooks it is. I’ve hard Asic lovers and haters – Asic don’t have gel that bounces back, so they tend to last a few months, nowhere near as long as other brands. Adidas feel amazing too. So many choices!
I know a lot of people have Brooks. That is another brand that I think will be worth trying. Thanks coach Kate.

I wear asics. I focus primarily on function but if i can aesthetically pleasing pair I am a very happy person.
Thanks for chiming in. I am definitely looking focusing on function. I have some good looking shoes and they are not worth a hoot.
